Q. What is the difference between
flat and trail brokerage?
A. A flat brokerage is payable
upfront. It is equal to the amount
brought in by a broker multiplied
with the applicable brokerage rate.
It is payable onetime. The trail brokerage
is calculated and payable quarterly.
It is equal to the average assets
standing to the credit of the broker
at the end of the quarter multiplied
by the applicable brokerage. The broker
continues to get brokerage as long
as the investor stays invested with
us.
Q. How is trail brokerage calculated?
A. Trail brokerage is calculated
every quarter. It depends on the average
asset standing to the credit of a
broker at the end of the quarter.
Trail brokerage = Average assets at
the end of quarter x trail fee x no
of days / 365
